Moonfare approached deskbird with a special request for a custom integration to further enhance their hybrid workplace experience.
The goal was to connect Moonfare’s existing access control system - **Salto -** with the deskbird platform to automate and simplify the check-in process in deskbird. By triggering an automatic check-in whenever an employee scans their access badge at the office entrance, the integration would make daily routines even more seamless and intuitive.
This smart combination of access control and desk booking would not only improve convenience for employees but also provide Moonfare with more accurate, real-time data on space usage - supporting smarter workplace decisions.
As deskbird’s official integration partner, NOA was brought in to help turn Moonfare’s vision of automated check-ins into a working reality. Inspired by the challenge and aligned with Moonfare’s hybrid workplace strategy, we quickly mobilized to build a custom integration between Salto and deskbird.
The solution was designed around three core components:

Make.com was established as the central hub for setting up the automation logic and integrating all involved tools.
The API connections created via Make enable seamless functionality between deskbird’s own platform and Salto’s access controls.

Salto’s hardware and software were used to manage access to Moonfare’s office and workdesk areas.
Thanks to Salto’s powerful - though complex - API, Make was able to facilitate seamless data exchange between deskbird’s booking platform and Salto’s access control system.

By working directly with deskbird’s development team to implement the necessary API endpoints, we were able to connect their platform with Salto’s access control system via MAKE.

Thanks to the close collaboration between Moonfare’s People & Culture team, deskbird’s development team, and our own experts at NOA, we successfully delivered the full integration in under five weeks. This included the initial implementation, testing, and multiple rounds of iterative feedback based on real-world input from Moonfare employees.
